  1. The data was advanced by the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, during a hearing at the Budget and Finance Committee as part of the discussion in the specialty of the proposed State Budget for 2023 (OE2023).

According to Ana Mendes Godinho, so far “about 55,000 workers” have registered on the website of the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) to express interest in looking for a job in Portugal.

  2. It is a good thing that there is a massive oversupply of affordable housing in Portugal, especially in the two economic centres Lisboa and Porto, and that tens of thousands more people coming to Portugal would not exacerbate this problem…

  3. Portugal has one of the highest youth employment rates in the EU. Why even consider attracting this many expats when your own future population can’t find jobs?

  4. No other country is trying as hard to replace its own population as Portugal. We just created a work visa that allows any person from anywhere on this planet to come here look for work without a job offer.

I don’t know how we still were not expelled from the Schengen Area.
