I knew an alternative was coming, but didn’t know it was already released.
Downloaded it couple of seconds ago… need to log in with eID+card reader…. fuck that, with Itsme I could verify through my bank.
I can’t use an eID-card reader. Also something about a QR-code, but haven’t checked that part yet.
“myID” or as my flamingant dad will call it: mij gedacht punt be
I use username+password+time based 2fa token (phone app) to login on government sites. I’m not sure why I seem to be the only one that does this.
It’s fine security wise, it’s a well known standard, it doesn’t require you to install new stuff on your phone or to trust a third party. And you don’t need to bring a smart card reader everywhere you go.
I doubt this is the government(smals) solution reported about a few months back.
Why would i want to use it?
Itsme works flawlessly
It’s useless. They sell it for the sake of diversity but it’s just some dude that had connections and wanted to make a great business deal.
But yeah, let’s believe the “freedom of choice” argument or whatever they say.
Totally unnecessary when there is Itsme.
This is a vanity project for a minister and a big paycheck for Smals.
I use Google Authenticator and it’s working miracles… Itsme was working fine but then I’ve changed the bank from ING to Argenta and after this, itsme became useless.
Supposed to already work on government websites: Went to try and log into e-procurement and it’s not available yet.
Also why try and get away from itsme with another app that is also handled by a private company? It’s just gonna be the same issue all over again isn’t it?
>“In essence there isn’t any difference and it certainly isn’t the case that people will suddenly stop using itsme. With this new app we are offering a choice. People will be able to choose whichever app suits them best”.
There’s no difference but you can pick! This is like picking between an apple and an apple for dinner tonight.
Tax payer money down the drain again
This doesn’t seem to be the one ‘created by the government’ that was discussed a while ago. This seems to be a third party.
The way the VRT report about it, makes it seem it’s government sanctioned, but in reality this is just free advertising for a third party.
Who tf is U2U Consult? What credentials do they hold?
was trying to install it

curious, if i never agree to let the government send me stuff to my ebox ? my ebox will always be empty and i never have to check it right? I refuse to use any of these apps, mail me my shit u lazy bums i pay 50% taxes for
god all these spam fishing mails about ebox and itsme and shit, getting on my nerves
No thank you. It already had vurnabilities. The government also has a stake in itsme (about 16%) so I really don’t see the point.
I have very little faith in government projects in terms of security.
I never used itsme either because I do not like the idea of using a private third party to gain access to all my government and life stuff.
How come the federal government wasn’t capable of having such a tool of its own?
