What’s up with sandwiches these days? I get the economy isn’t what it was but I rather pay extra or eat drywall than this atrocity.

  1. Oh then maybe I shouldnt mention how a certain food store chain puts pink reduction etiquettes on food that expire the next day and was already bad the next day.

  2. Our local panos has trimmed the toppings to save money

We are down to lettuce, cucumber and egg on a smos, anything else costs extra

They cut out tomato and carrot

  3. My workplace also downgraded their broodjes in the sodexo cafeteria. The bread got smaller and they dont fill it, they skimp on everything. The bread is always stale.

  4. I’ve eaten many “belegde broodjes” in many places and there is only one place that i know of that has decent onces. Decent as in, they are cheaper than litterally every other place, and I actually have to force myself to eat it all, everywhere else i need to eat 2 to feel somewhat full.
This has become a sad exploitative bussiness sadly, this was already the case before any crisis

  5. You can tell if a sandwich is made with love. I don’t know what the person who made it was feeling, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t love.

  6. Wouters across Carrefour Groenplaats in Antwerp. They aren’t expensive and loaded with veggies. Avoid spitsuur between 12.00 and 13.00

  7. This subreddit is going to shit. Idiots complaining about ordinary stuff every day. Do me a favour and move to Holland.

  8. They left the green/stem part on the tomato…disgusting. That by itself can ruin a sandwich (or anything else), for me.

    Yuk

  9. Buy ciabatta oven bread from the Albert Heijn and fill it up my man.

Otherwise make easier meals yourself, I recommend an airfryer for healthy fastfood.

  10. You say you’d rather pay more but I can tell by the plastic wrapper that you bought it from a shitty cheap food chain so what the fuck where you expecting.

  11. Never would I pay for a plastic wrapped sandwich in Belgium. I mean, there’s so many cheaper fresh options in local sandwich shops to start with.€5,40 will get me a large smos Mexicano, which is an entire baguette, at my local sandwich pusher.

  12. That’s what you get for getting a plastic wrapped sandwich from a chain. Surely there is a real broodjeszaak somewhere near you?

  13. Any sandwich in plastic is a read flag, I have never eaten a good sandwich from a plastic packaging.

  14. Bought a broodje at the tankstation and i saw it was filled with several conserveermiddelen & kleurstof & aroma… I somehow naively assumed they’d freeze them to keep them fresh. However now idk where I can buy broodjes where they DONT stuff them with shit
