Regarding “La Boom”…

  1. And now they’re canceling the one possibly legal version of their event… Lmao. Probably because they’d have to register it with their name and are too scared to have their identity made public, pussies.

  2. Meanwhile, corporations don’t trust their employees to work from home & make them come to the office -> 50% of inspected corporations are in violation of corona rules; they get off with a warning and even get a meeting with the prime minister But yeah people meeting friends are the only cause for the problems.

  3. Except that, you know, no infection peaks have been detected after most of the illegal maskeless gatherings… prime examples can be found in Liège, for instance.

    ICU is completely fine.

Remission rate is 98.9% in case of infection.

Lock-downs and restrictions on outside social life and restaurants are illegitimate and not science based at all.

These measures are pathetic attempts at avoiding increased funding for hospitals and healthcare, even though its called an essential sector by the current governmental coalition.

    Shameful.

  4. I’m sorry but la boom didn’t have to happen if the government would have dealt with this much more strickt from the beginning, The first lockdown should have lasted an extra month and then they should have not allowed travel to other countries. We could have had much lower corona numbers in total and much less money lost by the government. My grandkids will still be paying for this. People are angry at the general response I think not the rules right now

  5. can somebody give me proof that those restrictions even work in the first place? It’s easy to be frustrated at the people who still live their life and aren’t hypnotized by fear

  6. Its more because of the complete incompetence of our government, like these Indian students that came here to “study” while our own students can’t even go and a million other things that gets people fed up with our government

  7. Not agreeing with La Boum, but the cartoon is plain dead wrong.

As a Belgian living abroad I’ve seen how the BE government handled this compared to my local government and the BE government failed extraordinarily in their task. The people have more than enough reasons to be angry (and should be) to the point that I can understand their dispair which is resulting in ignorance.

Here’s what I experienced from my local government:

    1. When covid hit the stock levels of masks were high. They anticipated and bought many. Government workers were handing them out in the street freely (every 5 minutes walking you would be handed a package of 10masks)

    2. The governor (comparable to prime minister) was seen daily on the television repeating the same message since March 2020. Wash your hands properly, stay away 6 feet, wear a mask.

    3. The government produced a plan within a month, which never changed. 4 phases of reopening with clear kpi’s next to them for everyone to check daily where we are at.

    4. The moment a 2nd wave was foreseeable they didn’t roll back, but shifted the same rules to a micro level targeting the specific areas where the Rt-value would be too high making those area much more strict, this yielded great results

    5. Testing was in abundance and free for all at every doctor or pharmacy (even in supermarkets). There were months where I would get tested 2-3 times because I traveled or I wanted too to safeguard friends/family

    6. Vaccines were distributed at an insane high rate. My neighbourhood has 75% of its inhabitants vaccinated.

THIS is the job of the government! Belgium failed tremendously. IF you have done your job as a government it is ok to ask your population favors in return. In Belgium it is weirdly enough the other way around. You must stay confined long enough because they fail to supply basic virus containment measures and of you are good enough they might grant you a little piece of freedom. Begrijpen wie begrijpen kan

  8. I’m a raver pur sang and seeing these wooks talk about La Boum like it’s some sort of revolutionary act to be there. No, you and your stupid illegal free party cuz muh freedom are one of the reasons these measures aren’t as effective as planned.

I wanna go party again too, don’t fuck it up for all of us.

  9. Faulty premise meme tho. It’s the government that enforces the lockdowns. There is no invisible disease holding you in your house.
If people don’t care, they don’t care. That’s the current reality of it.

And now someone comes up with: a poor analogy or ‘*experts numbers say …*’ or ‘*Where’s your empathy*’.
