And while Max does deserve the WDC (Lewis does too), the decisions that led to the last lap of the race were baffling and make Max’s win seem artificial. The stewards and race control have just been arbitrarily refereeing the season and need a massive overhaul.
mixed feelings, I wanted Max to win, but not like this.
The incident at turn 6 in lap 5 really should have been decided differently in the favor of Max, but probably Mercedes would still have won, its clear they had a way better car.
But now this win will always have the shadow of ‘yeah, but that safety car decision though…’. IMHO, Lewis deserved the win and Max deserved the championship. But yeah …

Mercedes zijn zo slechte verliezers ik zou mij schamen als ik mij gedroeg zoals Toto Wolff gisteren. Vorige race was et nog “we want the championship to be decided on track” en nu dat ze verloren zijn is het opeens “niet eerlijk”. Nie afkome me diene zever.
I wonder what the reactions would be if this was the first race. Would there be all this drama? Lewis was lucky as well at many moments during the season. For example, the red flag at Imola undoing almost all the mistakes he made that race. Max coincidently had some luck in the final race, making him the world champion.
I agree though that the rules are a bit vague, but that’s not the fault of anyone except the FIA themselves.
