Most, Czechia. Almost completely destroyed by the commies in the 60s

  1. Do you think it wouldn’t be destroyed if we had a democracy? Jaslovské Bohunice started producing in 1972 and Dukovany in 1985.

Edit: destruction of old Most started in 1965

  2. IMO centrum Mostu by vypadalo skvělě, kdyby se o to staralo. Komunisti uměli stavět krásné věci když chtěli.

  3. Počkej voe! Tohle se na hlas nesmí řikat! Komunisti tady přece stavěli to ubytování a školy a…

(realita? Komunisté zabavili běžnejm lidem baráky, vystěhovali je do pavlačáků, domy strhly a místo nich se jali za vyvlastněné peníze stavět sídliště)

  4. I’m rather grateful the damage to heritage was somewhat limited to Most, Usti, Opava, and some parts of Ostrava. Opava in particular makes me quite sad, but we really got off easy in many ways.

What shocks me is how countries like Belgium, Sweden, the UK etc. tore down old buildings that weren’t even affected by war, in the 1960s and 70s in the name of “modernisation.” To this day historical heritage is being [demolished](http://www.arkitekturupproret.se/rivningar/2000-talets-rivningar/) there.
