What really baffles me is how casual this (alleged) abuse is.
Allegedly intimidating a journalist over unkind articles, putting relatives on the list to get vaccinations early, lending money from the city treasury to a former mayor, having a private/political event catered at the expenses of the city…
None of these things seem worth the risk.
It just doesn’t make sense to risk a political career over this. I wonder if this is just the tip of the ice berg.
Other than the invoice which seems dubious, am I the only one who thinks “De vrienden van…” sounds like a huge pay to play scheme?
This feels like some huge corruption, and I have a feeling this just gets accepted. Just in this case it’s shockingly blatant and almost feels like a taunt…

Ah Veerle Heeren, the shit hole for which the lid is blown off and never be closed again.
The gift that keeps on ~~giving~~ taking
Think there’s a lot to find. I’m curious if they’ll review her carnaval management and if she gave her boyfriend illegal support too.
With all that taking she’s making an excellent nemesis for Sinterklaas. I hope he defeats her!
Sjoemelpoedel 2.0
