Finally. Lets hopes theres follow through to this.
I really don’t get how this can have any pushback like
“Noooo don’t join a network of other scientists in an organisation that could potentially fund projects that otherwise would never see funding because……?”
What’s the because here
Any de-cern-ing Individuals wanna shed some light
About time. Give us a couple of years and the Irish will be running the place.
Great, about 30 years late but better late than never.
Was there not like an article 2 or 3 weeks ago saying we didn’t really need to join CERN?
Thats class. There is a history of physics in Ireland, great that we’re deciding to join the frontier of our universal understanding alongside the rest of humanity.
Also I just know there are going to be comments saying ‘the money could be spent on building houses’.
The best days of CERN may be behind it. A lot of the the post-Boson particle-hunting looks like an unscientific crap shoot. A lot of the research is unfalsifiable. Could we get aboard ITER instead?
