  1. >A pre-inquest review heard Essex Police had found messages on his phone reflecting a “very low mood”.

    >A full inquest is to be held in Chelmsford on 7 February.

Oh boy, is she not going to like the inquest. Wouldn’t be surprised if she tries rabble rousing again.

  2. Yeah that always seemed like nonsense.

I’m not going to have a go at the mum, I’m sure she has gone through an unbelievable amount of trauma from finding her child hanged or whatever exactly happened, and it seems from there some religious lobby group took advantage of her to make a case for their cause around medical/life laws.

  3. “My Archie did NOT kill himself, how dare you imply such a thing?!?!?! He was doing a very dangerous TikTok challenge that there is no evidence of which involved hanging himself with a noose! Those companies should be ashamed that they allowed this to happen, and they should also pay me LOTS of money in damages! I will also be taking legal action against the coroner, their family, their friends and their associates for such evil slander!

There will be a vigil tonight outside the coroner’s house, please buy any merch to support Archie at this difficult time as he is very much still alive.”

  4. she already tried to blind the kid by putting ear drops in his eyes for attention. 100% she did this to the poor lad.

  5. A lot of public money has been wasted because of this woman, this charade needs to end.

  6. I really hope media attention doesn’t cause the mother to use this as another excuse to grift the public, let the poor boy rest in peace.

  7. His mother has been clearly in complete denial from the start, which is not abnormal when something like this happens.

The people close to suicide victims always look for “what did I miss?” “are you sure it was suicide”. It’s a very hard thing to accept.

It would be VERY traumatic for your child to kill himself and have to cut him down…and of course you would look for an explanation.

From what I have read, her son hung himself off the landing bannister.

    That’s not an asphyxiation “challenge”.

And nobody has been able to present evidence that such a challenge exists.

Any child over the age of about 7/8 would know what hanging yourself does.

Plus I have seen several pieces of evidence that Archie was likely depressed.

It’s very sad, but it’s time to move on. Use this opportunity to fight for better mental health services for children.

Start a charity which offers free support for children with depression.

    Make something GOOD of this.

    Not battles.

  8. Was always obvious

Boy killed himself, and as the mother found Christianity, fought to keep him… I won’t use the word alive, but in that state, because she thought he was going to hell

I was called conspiratorial on this sub for saying that, and yet here we are

  9. His mum will never accept the truth. She will never admit her son chose to try and end his life, nor that the doctors went above and beyond to keep him comfortable. I suspect she thinks everyone is judging her because her son tried to commit suicide, so is working overtime to deflect and deny reality. In her mind, Archie died because of an online challenge gone wrong and the doctors took him off life support too early. She will think that until she dies.

  10. Considering this mother’s behaviour over the past year+ (the most positive term I could say is… unstable), none of this should be a surprise.

  11. jesus christ, I feel sorry for the kid for having this piece of shit as his mother. she really is trying to milk it for all it’s worth

I get that she lost her son, but this is not “grief” this is just pure greed

  12. Well the BBC can get fucked. They’ve been acting like it was a online challenge gone wrong from the 2nd week of his coma, even before the mother got involved. They acted like it was a bygone conclusion without an ounce of truth, never considered any other reason of why he ended up in a coma, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it influenced his mum as well. The BBC have a lot to answer for.

  13. incredibly sad for a 12-year-old to intentionally kill themselves. if anyone close to him was in denial about it, I hope this helps them to begin the painful process of acceptance.

  14. She needed to let him die far sooner than she did. Thank god the courts put a stop to it.

I would hate to be half dead hooked up to the mains like he was in his final weeks.

  15. As a parent myself I want to believe that on his mums part, the trauma of finding your child like that played a huge part in her behaviour. But unfortunately I just can’t put it all down to that.

    RIP that poor kid.

  16. It’s sad that at 12 years old you feel the only way to make things better is by ending your life. I think he experienced a lot of abuse, both mentally and physically.

His mother took his lost shred of dignity by parading him around for all these months. The pictures she would share of him in a nappy, with crusty eyes and hooked up to all kinds of machines. Awful.

  17. For those of us who grew up in homes where neglect was the result of parental self interest (AKA narcissistic attitudes/behaviours) this stuff isn’t particularly surprising.

She probably believed her son was happy, they had a “bond” and she was a perfect mother. People like this live in a delusion of their own making. If reality stops supporting their delusions then reality must be corrected.

I’m not sure if she’s still got the Evangelical Christian nutjobs in her ear as well since they were funding all the court battles for his life support cases.

She’s basically turned herself into a cult leader and it certainly seems to be paying well.

  18. I’ve wondered about the willingness of the media to portray this young lads death as misadventure, with the mother repeatedly citing an online “challenge” which clearly never even existed.

The whole story had garnered a lot of public interest. Any media outlet would have felt pressure to cover it. Reporting on suicide is exceptionally difficult because of the copycat/bandwagon effect, the media are acutely aware of that. Was the mother’s narrative a very welcome wildcard which facilitated their extensive coverage? I mean, we all knew there was no online challenge, so the media clearly knew it too. Why would they peddle this particular lie? I think it was just convenient because it emboldened the family for interviews, got the media out of a difficult situation to report and created some more rabble for attention and headlines.

  19. I’ve always suspected that he died during autoerotic asphyxiation and the mother is trying to cover it up out of embarrassment.

  20. A very sad thing Archie is dead bless him , hopefully his mum disappears and greaves like a normal mum would , and no one ever here’s her voice again,
