And just like that, another little piece of civil liberties and press freedom is chipped away.

  2. I have always been very suspect of countries who’s police randomly detain members of the press.

  3. A sign of things to come. People might not be bothered now but they finally realise what they let slip away when they find it necessary to protest over something they care about themselves.

  4. So…. you’re Press, who just so happens to arrive at the scene of this Illegal activity before even the Police…. wait a Minute….. Clark Kent, is that you, I knew I recognised you even if you have taken your glasses off.

And dude, the pants go inside the trousers, not the other way round.

  5. Police have a long history of harassing the press and photographers…… quite often they want them removed so there’s no footage of unlawful things the police may do.

PHNAT popped up during the period were swathes of photographers used to get arrested under section 44 and then section 43, and is still going

  6. There’s no mention at all of why they were arrested. There are many reasons why someone can be arrested. Being a journalist ≠ not liable for arrest, a press pass isn’t a licence for breaking the law.
