How can you end up travelling uo the wrong way on a motorway
Escaping Dundalk by any means necessary.
Ya see all those posts recently about having the talk with older family members who insist on driving but have low grade dementia. This is the perfect video to back up that argument
Jasus christ that was hard to watch.
Would the person recording think to call the gardai?
Imagine coming around a motorway bend at 120 Km/h and seeing another car coming straight at you!
There is an old man driving on the motorway. His wife calls him on his phone and in a worried voice says, John, be careful! I just heard on the radio that there is a madman driving the wrong way on the M50!
John says, I know, but there isn’t just one, there are hundreds!
At first I was thinking the driver was calling home saying, “I thought they drive crazy back home in Kentucky but these YOU-ro-PEE-ans drive like idiots!”
But then at the end you can clearly see it’s an older woman who has no grasp of what she’s doing, either as a result of dementia or medications. Scary
Holy fuck. My hands are sweating. Banned for fucking life after this sort of shit.
There’s an extreme lack of road knowledge and mental deterioration in the older members of our society. Many of them never even doing a proper test .
This has led to extreme circumstances like this where a small percentage of this generation don’t respect the rules or safety and drive at the manner the deem to be acceptable.
I was in 50 car line on the way from work today because someone was driving 35 in a 100 zone and there was no place to overtake safely unless the slow driver pulled in (they didn’t).
You should be required to do a test after a certain age to show you are still capable.
The government should have better peer reporting services.
Laws on minimum speeds needs to be evaluated. Go half the speed limit is not only unsafe but also wastes hours of people’s time when you add it together.
Suspended sentence incoming.
Christ, I just kept waiting for the smash.
See noting on the news pages, so I’m guessing it ended without major incident.
Ya big handicapped bastard ya
My cousin was in a car crash and died a couple years ago because of something exactly like this. This was difficult to watch. Someone too old to drive convinced that everyone around them is wrong… sickening.
My husband came across an old lady like this on a dual carriageway a few years ago. The road was quiet so he made her pull into the hard shoulder. He told her to turn around and she said “but I’m nearly there now!”. She reluctantly turned around after he insisted.
I think that’s the M3.
The M1 doesn’t have those concrete yokes between the carriageways.
WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR LICENSE FROM? THE LUCKY BAG 😂😂😂💀🤣
Serious issue here. I have an uncle that could do this tomorrow. He shouldn’t be driving. He goes on a 15 min journey and he gets lost and takes 3 hrs. He has a diagnosis and is still allowed to drive. However no one willing to make the unpopular opinion to say they can’t drive and getting them at least have to be accessed to get a license.
I once had to stop an old guy from going down the wrong side of the M9 off ramp near Kilkenny. I was coming off the motorway and he was on his way down. Had to cut him off before he got on to it. He had no clue he was going the wrong way. Driving can be a life or death lottery
I arrived at the overpass one day after leaving work and there was an old pair getting ready to go down the wrong ramp. I pulled up beside them and rolled down the window but they pretend they can’t see you and won’t respond to signals. So, all you can do is roar at them and leave, looking back from the roundabout they were still sitting there.
I’m just glad there was no biker on any of those turns. Committing to a turn and then seeing a car in your lane on a damp road, that’s a death setence. She should be in jail
Jesus, any update??
Unfortunately nobody realises until someone does something really fucked up like that just how unwell they are.
The motorways need plenty of variable message boards to warn “DANGER! FUCKWIT DRIVING THE WRONG WAY JUST AHEAD”.
Seen this loads of times over the years on that road
This is awful and hopefully nobody was hurt, but it does remind me of that joke…
And old lad was driving down the M1, his mobile phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife’s voice urgently warning him, “Seamus, I just heard on the news that there’s a car going the wrong way on the M1. Please be careful!”
“Hell,” said Seamus, “It’s not just one car. It’s hundreds of the fuckers!”
Rip their licence off them, hoping nobody got hurt

I passed a car on the M1 going the wrong direction before. I was about to pass out the truck Infront of me but it started freaking out, beeping and flashing it’s lights. The car zoomed past us so fast it took me a minute to realize what had happened.
If I had been any faster in wanting to overtake the truck I’d be dead.
This happened to me once (ie had someone drive up the road the wrong way). It’s not fun.
“Mam, if you’re driving on the M1 be careful, theres some lunatic driving the wrong way”
“Its not just one of them son, its all of them”
Why is no-one using their horns?
In the city centre at 3am drunk yous all honk like crazy but when it is super necessary, to get that person’s attention and, once passing them to advertise danger to oncoming traffic…. Nothing? Crickets…?
The cameraman has done some job here – fair play to him!
Think anyone who drives on the wrong side of the road, should be driving anyway, anywhere.
Same people who manage to get on railway/tram ways .
Crazy, all these cars driving on the wrong side of the road. Makes it dangerous for the one rightful driver.
Over 70’s should have to redo a free driving test every year or at least have to be assessed by a doctor on their competency to get behind the wheel. Seen this exact thing multiple times on the m6 in Galway
