Good too see making positive steps towards a better public transport system. Hopefully they open the line to passengers soon.
Sounds like a waste of funds to service a port, which would not actually ship much by rail. The newer intermodal train runs with only a few containers. I’ve seen it on the Galway-Dublin mainline west of Portlaoise.
Money is tight.
I suggest that they focus on other projects. Building rail service from Cork freight originators or restoring passenger rail in Co Mayo would be better.

I like trains.
