Work to begin on reopening Foynes-Limerick rail line

  1. Sounds like a waste of funds to service a port, which would not actually ship much by rail. The newer intermodal train runs with only a few containers. I’ve seen it on the Galway-Dublin mainline west of Portlaoise.

    Money is tight.

I suggest that they focus on other projects. Building rail service from Cork freight originators or restoring passenger rail in Co Mayo would be better.
