Warning of possible egg shortage as UK farmers struggle with avian flu

  1. Good. The way that hens are farmed is inexcusable abominable and goes a long way to demonstrate just how far the average person is willing to overlook cruelty and injustice just so long as the opportunity to satisfy an unnecessary want is on the table.

The only sad part of this story is that once again the animals are ultimately the real victims, but let’s be real, death by flu is probably a kinder fate than what awaited them all at the slaughterhouse.

The poor creatures never stood a chance being born as chickens into a world like this one. I don’t think enough people really appreciate what good fortune they had to have been born human.

  2. I tried to buy some eggs in Sainsbury’s yesterday. There wasn’t a single carton on the shelf

  3. Every time I read an article with “possible” or “may” in the title, it never happens, how strange.
