Wouldn’t it just be Dublin and Cork for matches , no other counties have stadiums with the capacity
I’ve been to 4 tournaments.
The economic benefit is a load of shite.
About 60-70% of people who attend most matches will be irish, so the economic benefit for those games will be no more than a qualifying game against a major nation, or a six nations game.
I’m happy for us to bid and host, but we have to stop with the bs positive effects.
This is a complete farce. I ask can anyone answer these two questions:
What other country has officially hosted a world cup or Euros (not including 2020 which was Europe wide) and only used one city?
How will the second, third fourth and fifth cities of this country benefit from this?
It’s an embarrassment that we’re going for this, but I am not surprised considering the FAI actively take from the nation to give to Dublin. U21 matches used to be played nationwide but are now entirely in Tallaght. They are a disgrace of a “national” institution.
They better get the Guards ready , because if this comes through there will be mayhem with all the houligans…
