It’s not exactly clear but it sounds like they could have just raised their voice across the coffee shop to say dogs weren’t allowed because it wasn’t noticeable that she was blind because she was actually visually impaired. They were wrong if they did see and didn’t know the law or perhaps they should have taken the time and effort to check properly but the headline suggests they knew she was blind and screamed at her – the story doesn’t.
That’s weird, I take my cat into Starbucks and they love her.
If you have a well behaved dog you’re allowed in to Caffe Nero I believe.
Sounds like a mistake that has been blown out of proportion by someone wanting to have their moment in the spotlight.
can we fuck off star bucks now? theyve never paid taxes in this country it’s been about 20 years fgs
Translates to; staff member made a mistake, didn’t realise the god was a guide dog, said to the woman (loudly so that she could hear them over the store noise) that dogs were not allowed. The woman pointed out the dog was a guide dog. The worker then apologised and went about their day.
Shouldn’t have happened at all, of course. But the headline says “yelled at”, the article says “told”.
The incident is bad enough, no need to make shit up.
So when the lady said to the staff member “it’s a guide dog” what happened?
If it was “oh sorry I didn’t realise” then this is an absolute non-story
How does the story only cover the initial comment by the member of staff, and not the reply from the dog owner 😂. Its insane people get paid to write this shit
I just don’t believe it, had it a million times working in pubs etc you say no dogs allowed im afraid as you don’t realise and they just say it’s a blind dog and you say sorry and move on
I know just how that poor blind woman feels.
I was yelled at, called names, and kicked out of McDonald’s because they wouldn’t allow my emotional support snake to be in the restaurant with me 🙁
They should just include all dogs. I’ve seen dirtier people walk into cafes, bars and restaurants without so much as a whisper.
I have a friend who is visually impaired and uses a guide dog (golden retriever). The dog is appropriately marked and and certified. He told me that in majority of cases (not all) he finds that if the shop/restaurant/taxi is run by people of MENA or Pakistan background they are far more likely to refuse service despite knowing he has a guide dog. It got so bad that he can’t order a taxi anymore as they simply put the phone down as soon as he informs them he has a guide dog.
