€3.5 . 10exp9 / 10 . 10exp6 Belgian population = €350/Belgian ≃ €1000/working tax paying Belgian/year

PS

I’m looking for €/passenger km for train and bus vs car. Can anybody find that?

Also, from when – time & number of passenger is it more sensible to replace these heavy big trains riding to shared taxis like taxi collecto we used to have in Brussels before Covid?

Or costs of an electric Tesla/100.000 km (rubber on road resistance) vs electric train/100.000 km (metal wheel on metal rail)?

  1. It’s nonsense to base your calculation on a plan from 2019. Governments can make 10 year projections all they want, if the current government doesn’t execute it, it’s pointless.

The only way to have real, credible calculations on government funding for railways is looking at the financial statements of NMBS and Infrabel.
