My five year old loves the Pixar film Inside Out at the moment. It’s a great film for trying to teach kids about their feelings. In a post credit scene a young boy meets the protagonist young girl and after she says hello the little people in his head start running around screaming and sobbing incoherently whilst a klaxon goes off in the background accompanied by the ominous warning “GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!” on a loop. The kid just stares at her whilst his gob catches flies. Dunno why this story brings that to my mind.
Rather less charitably, privileged, pubescent little tossers whose parents don’t like them very much in inability to grasp the very concept of how to communicate with the opposite sex shocker.
It’s almost like dividing children based on class and gender causes an us vs them mentality and results in idiots who don’t know how to interact with people from outside their limited bubble.
I know that private schools will always be a thing, but we really should ban single gender schools all together. Nothing good can come from raising kids that can’t interact with 50% of the population.

I went to a state comprehensive very close to Eton and we played rugby against them once a season. They were arseholes to us too, they stood on the sidelines jeering at us, rather than cheering on their players. I can’t remember the specific chants but it was along the lines of calling us peasants. The irony being (for me at least) that I had been at a private prep school with a few of the guys playing for Eton 2-3 years earlier. We all just stood back silently glaring at them, arms folded, with our headmaster. Felt quite proud we didn’t stoop to their level. Completely out classed them socially…but sadly not on the pitch.
I’m surprised nobody’s tried to burn the place down yet.

I studied at Winchester for 3 years and I can tell you the level of casual bigotry that was going on there was insane. Fuck those places. I try not to mention I was there nowadays irl because I’m so ashamed of it.

When your school is inviting Nigel Farage to speak, it’s really downhill from there. We should never allow those who believe themselves elite and a cut above because of the school they went to back into government. Eton churns out a special breed of delusional Sociopath with delusions of grandeur. They immediately set about getting people to believe there’s a race war rather than a class one. It’s worked for so long, it’s an ethos set in stone.
Hot take: Universities should be restricted in how many privately educated students can go, and the civil service should not hire them entirely.
Why shouldn’t the state favour those who went to its schools?
Abolish private schools, enforce that all UK children must go to a UK public state school up to the age of 16.
Once we get the rich kids mixing in with the rest of the population, they’ll start making friends and hopefully we’ll have a generation of privileged people that empathise with the general public.

I was having an okay day until I remembered Eton is real.
I know a private school, won’t name it but it’s in the midlands. It has a public walkway going through it and I kid you not, when people walked on that road the kids used to approach them and start pointing and shouting “chavs” at them, and not one or two kids but like 15+ kids (conservative estimate) at a time, like they’d run from a distance to confront them. On the regular. Should be stamped out, but probably the teachers don’t think it’s that big a deal, so don’t bother addressing it any more than normal misbehaviour. This is like a decade ago, but I doubt it’s changed.
Sanction Eaton by removing its ‘charitable’ status – and from all the other fee-paying schools.
They are complete little cunts. I used to work there quite a bit. Obnoxious little fuckers.
