More people will die. The question is more “Will more people have poor accommodation standards listed as a contributing factor towards their death?” It’s like how we know the DWP has been a contributing factor towards the death of thousands of disabled people but it is not officially noted on their death certificate. People will die because of the continuing slide in standards of rental accommodation but landlords and housing associations will never be held to account for those, so there will never be any impetus for them to change.
