  1. Jesus Christ that is disgraceful and fair play to the reporter for trying to stick it to him but politicians are so brazen they don’t care.

Also Stephen Donnelly has an arrogance about him that makes me hate him

  2. He really is a piece of shit human being. He’s so hate-able. You can hate on Leo and Michael all ye want, but Donnelly takes the cake for me. I really really hate that cunt.

  3. “The HSE are aware”………

They just don’t give a fuck!

Neither Donnelly or the HSE are fit for purpose

  4. How do we get politicians out of office? Like what are the steps

I’m so fucking sick of this cunt Donnelly in particular. The others are easy to dislike, Donnelly is on another level. He’s a corrupt, self serving arrogant prick, who is genuinely detrimental to his department.

Like what are official ways of getting them out of office? The health services in this country are scandalous and it’s the HSE / Department of Health that are to blame, not doctors or nurses.

Donnelly needs to go, he’s not only terrible at his job, he’s arrogant as fuck about it too

  5. How does Donnolly fix the HSE?

It’s rotten through. No accountability, no consequences for bad management or staff. One of the highest budgets per capita in the EU and it still manages to piss money away while providing slow and unreliable service.

Most on the ground staff are doing their best, but admin and other areas seem to be beset with problems.

Another minister will spend two or three years trying to figure out how it works, then they are out at the next election, meanwhile the HSE trundles on and those on the big money count down the days to their promotion or pension.

  6. If anyone is going to lose their seat at cabinet it’s Donnelly. He’s not popular and doesn’t have a strong base of support within his party. He’s the safest person for Martin to axe if he wants to bring someone new to the table.

  7. His ginger penis head freaks me out.

Get someone in from the UK or US or literally any other country in to fix the HSE ,because we are obviously too corrupt/thick/ lazy to fucking do it.

  8. I’m not sure if this is the right thread to mention this, but here goes:

My friend’s mom is Ukrainian, and she moved here slightly before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, so she had no means of moving back to Ukraine. She applied for a temporary protection that’s supposed to cover the immediate medical needs as well via the medical card.

Some time in she started feeling really unwell, and went to GP a few times only to get dismissed and then sent to A&E eventually. When in A&E she had to wait for more than 16 hours just for the doctor to say that they don’t see any problems with her, so she won’t be undergoing any sort of screening or MRI/X-ray or anything. Severe abdominal pain for the last few months? Take painkillers, it’ll get better.

After she took painkillers long enough that they didn’t help with the pain anymore, she said: “Alright, that’s it, I’m going to Ukraine” – despite the current state of things where cities get bombed almost daily. She arrived there about two months ago, got diagnosed with late-stage cancer, underwent an operation where chunks of her intestines were removed entirely, and is now still recovering after the operation and 6 rounds of chemotherapy.

I’m not able to say anything about the healthcare system in Ireland first-hand: my insurance covered parts of my family’s needs, and we’re doing alright, but this story just makes me think twice about possibly staying here long-term: I’m genuinely afraid that if, god forbid, my kid needs some serious treatment – I’ll be out of options EVEN IF I’m able to pay for all the expenses myself.
