also automated to drive too close to the car in front and flash lights until they move out of the way.
>According to Mercedes-Benz, there are over 13,100 kilometers (8,140 miles) of highway suitable for the Drive Pilot system in Germany.
>
>The KBA gave the system the all-clear for driving speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour (37 miles per hour).
Up to 60km/h on highways?
Interesting part: Mercedes is the first company to take the liability for the accidents under its system.
It’s the first such case in the history.
This could be huge if they put it into their Sprinters (vans), if it would allow professional drivers count automated driving during traffic jams as rest periods.
Wouldn´t this be beneficial to be pushed out on low priced vehicles first in order to gather as much data as possible and advance the system further? Or do they place the sensors into all vehicles but just not the system?
Finally just fucking make auto drive cars already so we don’t have to stare in traffic or do 9 hour trips and our legs die
