On this day, Ukraine celebrate the Day of Dignity and Freedom. On November 21, 2013, the Euromaidan began: students and activists gathered on the Independence Square to protest against the decision of the government of Viktor Yanukovych not to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement.
