Just as a heads up: it’s cheaper to order Youtube Premium in Switzerland from your Computer than from the Phone App

  1. There could also be a difference between Apple vs non-Apple device. It’s become fairly common to charge Apple users more.

  2. It is the same for many subscriptions so they dont lose money from the app stores/google play stores fees.
And its even cheaper if you use a VPN to subscribe. For example I have Netflix Premium(22.-) for 6.- or Twitch Prime/Prime Video(10.-) for 1.- by subscribing with a turkish VPN.

  3. Just a heads up: **uBlock Origin** (PC/Mac, Android), **YouTube Vanced** (Android), and **Brave Browser** (all platforms including iOS), are all free.

If you get ads in 2021, that’s on you.

  4. who the fuck buys yt premium? and for that price?

if you buy it get a vpn or if you dont get youtube vanced/use youtube on the brave browser

  5. Hot tip: it’s even cheaper to use a VPN and set it to russia, then pay in roubles (roughly 2.50 CHF/month). You just need a russian address, but any random hotel will do. Once you set it up, it’ll keep charging you roubles it doesn’t revert to your current location without the vpn on. I imagine you might have to redo it if your credit card expires, but I haven’t gotten to that

  6. Just as a heads up, it’s cheaper to use a VPN to go to the Youtube India website and buy a subscription there, than it is to do it from the Swiss website. I did that and I pay only 50% of the Swiss price.

EDIT – Ahh sorry guys I pay 300rp / 2.50chf per month, even cheaper than I thought! 😀

  7. Honestly why use YT Premium when YouTube Vanced exists, gives you ad-free + background play, all while maintaining a vanilla YouTube experience.

    inb4 helping creators, I know, I know.

  8. Tip of the day – cheapest YouTube is if you switch to Russia, then download and connect to VPN that can pretend to be Russian (works on android) and buy it for around 3 chf per month.

  9. I dislike that YT only allows to run the app in the background on iPhone’s with a premium subscription.

It is just pathetic when they need to force users to pay for very basic app features in order to “motivate” them to subscribe to their content.

  10. It’s even cheaper to use a VPN and subscribe from India: CHF 5.00 for 3 months. It’s not worth more anyway.
