In not sure anyone pays road tax. But some good point made. But to charge people for car use, you have to have a public transport system in place.
It’s called motor tax, tax on the privilege of having a motor..
On the m3 inbound, you have to pass two tolls in 25 mins, before you reach a train station. The buses are grand but much slower than driving.
If good public transport exists its one thing but to have high tolls and no alternative is acting the bollox.

Road tax is not a thing. The only people who think this is a thing are daft people on the internet who want to think that they are specially entitled to use the road.
People pay Motor tax, but that’s about it.
Tolls are just a money making scam. I avoid the m50 one, the villages and small roads are packed with people doing the same, tolls work great!!!!
