The alleged history is that some people from Roslagen where invited in as rulers because everyone where at each other’s throats and no family could accept that the other would rule. Not a historically unprecedented situation. This doesn’t really translate to “founding Russia”, it’s like saying Sweden is French because we had to invite one of Napoleon’s marshals to the throne after Charles XIII failed to produce an heir.
