This topic comes up occasionally on r/Norway so I thought I’d share a helpful link. There are a lot of good insights in this article.
1. Get them drunk.
2. The end.
Great article, thank you for sharing.
This is pretty on point, from a native perspective.
I am not Norwegian but I have behaved like this before.
Is this why I have no Norwegian friends after 5 years of living here?!
I gave up in the end and made friends with people from other countries!
What nonsense
This might be useful for me as a Norwegian with 0 friends, Danke schön.
In other words, nearly impossible. 😂
Kidnap is an option
Offer them snus
Interesting how much the introduction could also be about Finnish people. I think the most common thing we share with Norwegians are jokes about our lovely neighbours The Sweds! 😘
As a Norwegian, I approve of this message. (Though, slightly exaggerated of course)
this makes me kind of sad
I identify with a lot of this, especially hyttevenn (more like gymvenn)
Overall good read
Too damned complicated for me!
That’s the neat part, you don’t.
seems right to me! but it sounds a bit grim when you put it in writing.
Just ask.
“Listen, I don’t know a lot of people around here and I think you seem like a pretty reasonable person to be around. Do you wanna grab a coffee and “preike shit” sometime?”
Being straightforward is the key to getting whatever you want in life.
Savages
i have broken everyone of these lmaaoooo
What the hell. I love this form of interaction. I have been doing it Norwegian style in The Netherlands without being aware of it. Here in NL we tend to be loud and (sometimes too) straightforward.
Strange, I seemed to make friends pretty naturally here.
