“The continued freezing of tax thresholds means most people won’t notice it directly as the temperature increases, and so won’t leap out of the water. They’ll simply discover years down the line that they boiled.”
It means we’re paying for the mistakes (30bn) of a government which should have been ousted for it!
Basically we’re screwed.
Income tax thresholds frozen, personal allowance frozen, NI threshhold frozen.
All at a time of rocket inflation.
Fuel duty could be going up in March as well.
It means a lot of the cuts and tax increases don’t take effect until 2025 if I’m reading correctly.
Thats also when there will be an election so they tories are basically trying to chain a future government to their policies. Wtf?
It means that the government continues to value me as a young person less than pensioners
Am I right in thinking that alongside the 20% increase in the energy price cap (£2500ish to £3000ish), we’re also losing the £66 a month from the £400 energy rebate thing. So on average this will feel more like a 50% increase in people’s monthly energy outgoings in April. It feels like that should be getting more attention because that will absolutely hammer people.
It means life is shit, will get shitter, in fact 2019 was the best year of your life, all downhill from here
