Why do people do the extremely low effort thing that sometimes works?
They bother because lots of people apparently have zero awareness. Sure this very thing had been the subject of countless “is this a scam?” posts here. So if you assume there are people who should know better *but still at least ask* there going to be a sufficiently big number of thicks to fall for it.
You have given the only appropriate response.
If you said ok and proceeded with this what would actually happen?
How does this scam work?
No couriers please, only carrier pigeons accepted. Or courier pigeon.
Why do they bother?
Based on the number of posts on here of people being unsure if it’s a scam or not – because people are dumb. For every one person that posts here there’s one more falling for it.
I had something up on donedeal a while back and approximately 4 people contacted me saying the exact same shit
I fucking hate this. Every ad I put up you get at least one.
Adverts.ie is the best place for selling without this
I got this just this week, I went along with it to see what the scam was. They will send the cash but you must pay 100 insurance PLUS the value of what you’re selling lol! I was selling a bike and asked them if they wanted the 4 wheels on or off for the trailer…they said it was fine on…for the address i gave them the meath head office of DPD….and for money I confirmed they wanted to pay in £ and I was ok to pay the insurance in $ for a bike advertised in euros. Scumbags only left when i asked her to check she was happy with my address.
Next time give them address of a comedy club when they ask where you are tell em to get on stage and tell their jokes over there.
Agree and send them the address of a travellers encampment.
Wastes their time and if they’re stupid enough to go then there might be one less scammer in the world.
If a guy knocks on your door claiming to be from ups and he’s not wearing any uniform and doesn’t have a id he definitely doesn’t work for ups.
Are you still selling? I’ll take it 👀

they are not saying anything about filling a form? if its hard cash for the product, why would anyone care? if you get the cash and arent asked to fill out a form with bank details etc…
or am i missing something?
looks like *they* are sending someone, its not that OP is *hiring* someone to deliver?
