And youll get the people standing there buying 20 bags of reduced shredded lettuce
does not feel like a big change, other supermarkets do this. Meanwhile other supermarkets have problems with this arrangement.
You know what would really stop food waste, donating food not bought to charities or the homeless instead of throwing it in a locked bin.
For the last 3 years reduced to clear because it’s going in the bin otherwise has meant 5% off if your lucky, when it used to be a real saving (50% or more). It’s horrible that they’re still overpriced when unsold often means bin as we don’t have the laws they have in France that force the food to go to good causes.
I really hate seeing packs of fruit for example with some pathetic single digit percentage off when some of the pack is visibly mouldy already. I might risk the ones that look ok but I’m not paying 95% prices to then need to bin more than 5% of the pack.
