An existential threat would be the US pulling all LNG export to the EU, sinking the EU economy overnight and setting off Sovereign Debt Crisis 2. This is a minor trade dispute in comparison. All the EU needs to do is to roll out a similar subsidy program.
this is great. us supporting their industries is wonderful. the eu being an energy importer is something that should already have been resolved.
there are numerous solutions, some are about investing in renewables, some are about reducing consumption. if the moves are done correctly the eu can in one move decouple from foreign influence and at the same time reduce resources consumption thus leading the way for a carbon 0 eu.
