Since my previous [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/z20doz/percentage_of_people_who_never_accessed_the/) on Internet use raised many question, I looked for something that may correlate with the % of people that never used the Internet. I found a decent correlation with the data on how much Europeans use it to interact with state institutions. Source is again Eurostat.
Yeah ok but isn’t that shade of pink gorgeous?
Old people *love* standing in ques to get stuff done. They grumble and complain to each other about having to be there, and they all agree with one another that it’s intolerable.
That’s how they socialise
NL are once again honorary nordics.
Default method in Denmark.
You have to apply with a valid reason and be approved to opt out of using the Internet for contact with the authorities.
ScandITnavia…..
No way 30 percent of germans are interacting online with state institutions.

Its not that we dont want to its there is just no possibility.
Hmm, having a hard time seeing how we’re not at the >80% level on this considering how many of our state institutions are *only* on the internet.
Yep, bureaucracy is THAT bad.
Honestly quite embarrassing when even Greece and Turkey score a better average than us throughout all of their respective countries.
Italy improved by 30000% in the last decade
But let me guess, in the countries where this is possible, you have to install a spyware infested OS like Windows 10 to be be able to do that?
Yeah in Sweden, almost EVERYTHING is authorized through BankID, which is an app locked behind the secure enclave of android and ios. It then communicates with a server that verifies your secure enclave is registered to a person in the country and authorizes whatever service you need. This includes healthcare bookings, bank logins, often times even totally mundane things like just logging into online retailers. I’d be shocked if most Swedes don’t interact with the government via internet at least once a month. The only thing I wish was the BankID was open source and could be run more trust-less on any device you like, but it’s a big improvement over other countries. If the EU ever comes up with a standard I hope it’s like bankID but with a trust-less architecture where you don’t need to rely on Android and iOS’s secure enclave.
Italy’s data is probably a lot higher now, there are more than 30 million active digital identities now.
