You buy a lamp and a connector which plugs in. See this image[https://i.imgur.com/6vnup6P.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/6vnup6P.jpg)
First buy a lamp
You need a light fixture adapter. They don’t cost a lot and can be found in any appliance store.
Adapter 😆

Alternatively you can unscrew the lid and connect the lamp straight to the socket but I’d advice you not do it unless you’ve done electrical work before
If you have to ask, please get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you.
Please don’t listen to ‘glue paperclips/screw that thing open’ – advices if you don’t have correct knowledge about electricity. You seriously risk hurting yourself/worst case your life with these DIY – solutions.
Be safe ❤
To be as clear as possible:
-that is NOT a lamp that you put light bulbs in
-that IS a socket for a ceiling lamp (that you then put light bulbs in)
Push
If you just want to have a simple lightbulb in the ceiling, you can buy this:
I have a couple of these to use as temporary ceiling light sources for just after moving into a new apartment, or just before moving out of an old one.
You don’t. You connect the light bulb to a lamp, which then gets it’s power from that socket, and hangs from that hook.
1. Buy a lamp with a plug matching to this type socket.
2. Hang lamp from the hook.
3. Attach plug to the socket. If you don’t feel confident, you could turn off the mains while doing this.
Living abroad, this is one of the small things that I miss from Finland. Where I’m living there’s just wires hanging from the ceiling and have to call an electrician.
Im still waiting for the day when light bulb plugs use the normal type E plug.
I have always wanted to know what would happen if i tried to charge my phone with one of these
So I was in similar situation when I moved here few months back. What I did? I took the picture just as this one and walked into a shop near of workplace. It’s called K-Rauta. I asked the staff there. They were super helpful. And then there was light 🙂
I used these from motonet, the cheapest option that is also straightforward. Then you use normal light bulbs.
Your lucky you have that outlet plug and hook already installed. My apartment just has wires hanging down from the ceiling and I’ve been too nervous to try and install the outlet plug and hook myself.
With a hangman rope
After the intro (in Finnish), there’s an interactive portion which will instruct you how to properly connect the lamp using the correct wires
you will never get it flush to the wall. it’s an awful process. stand on a ladder–at the same time you are plugging something in, you are attaching the lamp to the hook, and while you need to push it against the ceiling, you will inevitably unhook it.
Those are for nebs. Try the old fashioned one which is three hanging wires and no hook!
