It’s very difficult to get the transatlantic model to work low cost. Look at the number of failures all the way back to Laker and Icelandic.
You could probably balance it up in the summer months but trying to make the costs stack up year round seems to push every airline under.
I just don’t see it competing with Dublin with regard to the sheer amount of destinations that Dublin holds and airline choices. Its already a trans Atlantic hub and has pre clearance. Belfast is also hurt by not having the best range of other European destinations. If it works I’m happy for them but I unfortunately don’t see it happening.
