Concentration of castles inE Europe. We seem to be lacking.

1. Lacking? We have such a high concentration compared to UK/Spain

4. To how small Ireland is it has fckton of castles TBF.

   And also many still remain.

   Where in eastern Europe, many were built of wood.

   All in Ireland doesn’t lack in castles or history, as many are still scenic and well kept.

12. looking at it seems like present day France and Belgium came out tops… at the time would that have been a bunch of smaller states or parts of some duchies etc….

15. One reason for apparent low density is because fortified tower houses (which are mostly not included) were far more common particularly in the southern half of the island where soils are more productive.
