Al Porter set for comeback after five years out of public spotlight

  1. It was awful what happened him. Whether people liked him or not the man lost his career and his dignity for nothing. I’m glad he’s coming back, not that I’m a fan but he shouldn’t have been cancelled in the 1st place.

  2. It’s odd that the article says he was “cleared” of the allegations – that suggests to me that he was charged with something and found not guilty, but if you read the rest of the article there was one charge that was withdrawn plus other allegations that are “unproven”. Charges can be withdrawn for any reason, and there can be any number of reasons why allegations don’t turn into charges. There’s no mention in the article of Porter suing anyone for defamation or the authorities charging anyone for making false accusations against him, or of Porter taking issue with the employers who dropped him on the basis of false allegations. Porter is obviously putting his particular spin on events to try to revive his career, but it would have been nice if the article wasn’t so obviously biased in his favour.
