  1. When the PSNI wanted to join the GAA every county board in the 6 voted no except for Down. Rule 21 was flushed away, PSNI GAA aren’t required to have their names on display for security reasons.

  2. The Black and Tans did it, not the RIC. If you want to include the Black and Tans and Auxiliaries in the RIC you’re really stretching the limits of Irish history.

  3. Can I ask what is the purpose of posting stuff like this? It seems like once a week there’s a similar post about a horrible event that happened on this day some obscure number of years ago.

  4. Our history is shared and it’s dark in all corners, no side alone is the victim, no side alone os perfect, wrong was sadly committed by all in this and most if not all human conflicts.

A horrendous and dark day in Irish history, there’s been too many, hopefully we have a brighter future away from all this.

As it’s been said before, there’s been too much dying for Ireland and not enough living.

  5. Ireland is like a festering wound with their folk tales.
The sending of a small British Army Contigent into Belfast to prevent the “B-Specials” from controlling the “Fenians” was the biggest mistake in history.
Put it this way, My mother was British,Free State, then Eire.
