I seen Liverpool and then Glasgow and stopped. I know dublin is bad but I didn’t realise it was Liverpool and Glasgow bad…
Out of touch asshole. Born with a silver spoon in his gob and will die with one there too.
Did Leo actually compare Dublin to New York and Sydney? Its not even the same stratosphere
Maybe compare it to the main destinations for irish immigration. Canada, aus, New Zealand etc.
Kind of a shite piece tbh
Excluding council tax is a bit disingenuous.
Also what’s the average salary in those cities ?
This man has the contempt that is typical of so many privileged Castleknock people ( not all)!
He hasn’t a clue what it’s like to live in the real world.
He and his kind see working people on low wage that are struggling to not only pay bills, but keep a roof over their heads as below him and and his private school friends.
Jack Chambers is going to be the next little private school boy to watch out for.
He’s happy to help people ( local GAA club) etc.
If you’re from the right family or club he’s your man!
Not sure about the exchange but I’m paying £1300 for a two bed flat with garden in Turnpike Lane North London. 25 mins to Leicester Square. Probably due a rent hike any day but still rather be there than Dublin any day
Yet another quote to add to Leo’s ‘severely out of touch’ list of sayings this is up there with “if young people are struggling to buy a home they should just ask their parents for help with deposit” as sure every family depending on number of kids has 20-80k+ laying around 7years after a recession 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

I left Ireland because I was so sick of the constant moaning by Irish people… rents across Europe are high… Dublin is no exception
O you surprise me. In Liverpool where salaries are 40% lower on average, rent is 40% lower? OMG shock!
Or in Seville where salaries are 55% lower, rents are 60% lower? What could this mean?!?!?
Paddy Cosgrave and his self funded government vendetta website
I’d never even heard of the Ditch a year ago and now I feel like they’re the last Irish publication not just manufacturing consent for the bullshit status quo.
I kg of green easy
> Varadkar is letting out his two-bedroom Castleknock, west Dublin apartment for €1,600 a month.
Eh…these days, a good price for a large two bed in that location…
> The cheapest two-bedroom property currently available in the county is in Lucan. The €1,600-a-month apartment is a 35 minute bus-journey to the city centre.
So Varadkar is renting his apartment for the same price as the cheapest 2 bed in Dublin? Where’s the scandal?
A 6-bedroom house in a city the size of Cork in the South of France.
Stop calling the cunt by his first name FFS.
meta comment but this website is doing incredible work lately. i’d never really heard of them until a couple of months ago and i love how they are quantifying the level of corruption and parasite behaviour across our politicians
easy peasy. bus tix are cheap as on the continent.
Leo the Liar. Who would have thought?
All landlords are leaches.
Get an honest way of making a living you fucking scumbags.
I don’t disagree that rents in Dublin are way too high but I don’t think comparing to Liverpool, Glasgow and Seville makes the point they think it does.
