An international expert investigating the so-called mica crisis in Donegal has said his three-day trip had confirmed his findings that the defective block crisis expected to cost the State billions of euro is not caused by mica, but by pyrrhotite.
And how the fuck is this only being stated now?
Yeah I think they went with the wrong (most sensational) headline. The real story is that it’s not Mica that is the issue at all and that, shock horror, our government and the various government agencies involved are completely inept.
He said they should have traced the blocks and cement to the manufacturing plant and then tracked all blocks and cement from the plant(s) to their destination to ensure that there aren’t a shitload more structures at risk that we don’t yet know about. Yet none of this has taken place and people are still living in their crumbling houses.
Wait till he sees our infrastructure and public transport. Might have to have a defibrillator at the ready.
