  1. Tournaments gotten off to a pretty good start match wise, already an upset and some good games

  2. France match was class. If you’d have to pick a team by form as the favorites, so far they’re standing out.

    Big day today with Spain and Germany both playing. Just wish one of those was the late kick offs to watch with a beer.

  5. Anyone catch George Hamilton giggling away at Ray Houghton’s commentary in the build up to the penalty?

    Houghton said something like “Raum has room here” and Hamilton was thoroughly enjoying a nerdy, word-play laugh at it. Even took the time to explain it to Houghton… “Raum in German actually means room, you know that?”

    That’s the kinda stuff I tune into RTE for. Hamilton thoroughly enjoying the little gag 😂

  8. I know people have been rightly having a bit of a moan about the Irish commentary.

    But the Japan game went down for me on RTE via the fire stick mid second half so I swapped over to BEiN.

    Post mach comments from Andy Grey and the other nob. Hearty chuckles a few little snide insinuations and some half pulls on the trigger.

    I’m not soft-skined but they were about an inch away from accent impressions and did make a joke about not being able to tell the players apart.

    Jaysus, I’ll take Cunningham and Doyle, bring back Brian Kerr even, anything is better than that.

  15. Instead of commentating on the game, the RTE commentators seem to spend the entire first half of every game reading out what club all the players play for. Tedious commentary. English TV not much better either. Pity there’s not a televised option where it’s just the crowd noise and no commentary.

  17. Feel sorry for Canada. Very positive against on paper a much stronger side. Just lacked a bit of quality up front to make it count. Will be interesting to see how they get on in their next few games.
