Hi everyone! I’m going to do an Erasmus exchange in Luleå and I was wondering what kind of coat/shoes should I wear.
My budget is max 300 euro/3300kr for the coat.
If you have any suggestions with specific brand, please comment down below! I’m a bit lost, because there are so many choices.
Is this kind of coat interesting for the cold winter?

I bought a bunch of thrifted coats on second hand! They’re dirt cheap there and look great !
Stadium Outlet. like 70/90 euros for a great winter coat.

Honestly it depends on how sensitive to the cold you are. My brother who lives a bit north of Luleå (a place called Kalix) walked around in broken shoes, a fall/spring jacket and jeans that consisted of more holes than clothing for most of winter.
To give you some actual advice, the first question you want to ask is how much padding you want in the coat. More padding in the coat = warmer = less layers necessary underneath. The one you linked seems to have a fair bit of padding. However, this might result in that the coat is too warm to use if it is above lets say 0 degrees Celsius. A thinner coat might be useful in other environments other than the cold north but in Luleå you would need more layers underneath. It is thus a choice of preference.
Another aspect to consider is whether you want more of a city coat or multipurpose that you can ski, hike and do activities in. I imagine that you might want partake in some winter activities during your year abroad. Based on how long the coat you linked is on the model, I don’t think that it is optimal for winter activities.
Luleå is perceived to be quite windy which as you probably know makes the temperature to be perceived as colder than it actually is. It is therefor essential to have clothing that covers cracks that might expose skin, such as the neck, wrists and ankles. The coat you linked seems to pretty good in that regard as it offers solid protection around the neck.
When it comes to shoes, it depends on what you plan on doing. It might take a day or two but the streets will be removed off snow so you can use sneakers if you wish, it will however be cold and might be slippery. Winter boots will obviously be more suitable to the climate but they can cost some serious dough.
Look at naturkompaniet and xxl they both have great selections.
A jacket alone is probs not enough. Make sure to layer.
