  1. >The Police Federation said that the case was thrown out of court due to a shortage of available barristers and the judge refused to adjourn the case, instead directing not-guilty verdicts were recorded.

Why would the judge refuse to adjourn the case?

  2. Sure but what were they wearing? Were they asking for it?

False accusations ruin lives I hope these coppers are arrested now the not guilty verdict is in.

  3. As one of the officers said, what’s the point of reporting crime if the courts will just throw it out due to a lack of lawyers?

Something needs to be done about the backlog of court cases. Throwing them out is not the answer.

  4. If the judge threw it out rather than adjourning the matter due to a lack of barristers at the time, and there are no other reasons, that judge needs to be struck off. Wholly unfit to hold that office if they’re making absurd and unjust decisions like that.

  5. It’s difficult to see how a judge could think that was the correct course of action? Judges suffer pretty much no consequence for any of their decisions.
