UK music festivals: “Drug checking could have saved Georgia”

  1. Legalising and restricting through pharmacies probably could’ve saved her too, but nobody is thinking that far out of the box

  2. Why is it always someone else’s fault or responsibility and never if the “victim”!

The past 20 years or so no one takes or accepts responsibility whatsoever.

  3. Wow the law and the criminals are really protecting people. Let’s just keep going with that attitude from the 30s

  4. Alcohol is way more dangerous than MDMA. I used to do MD when I was young and all it ever did was make everyone your best friend. People are going to do it, it is better it is regulated.

Alcohol on the other hand is a horrible, destructive, but socially acceptable, and taxable drug.

  5. So many turds on this thread.

MDMA is a remarkably safe drug.

A good night out shouldn’t kill you.

    Legalise.

  6. We need legalisation. People always have, and will always continue to use drugs. Substances like MDMA, psychedelic mushrooms and LSD all have a profoundly positive impact on one’s life when used in the correct manner, which needless to say is a lot more difficult when those drugs are illegal, inconsistent and potentially adulterated.

  7. Ban alcohol too then, seeing as you that’s just as bad, mainly because people don’t know when to stop.

  8. These comment threads proving without a doubt that some people are irrational beyond redemption.

  9. I pity the people who have never tried a safe dose of mdma because of the government making it difficult to get knowledge / accurate drugs.

  10. How did she think that would help? They don’t tell you the strength, just what’s in the pill and she already said it was big strength mdma, so it would have shown her it was mdma

  11. PSA you can buy mdma testing kits for cheap on Amazon, we brought one to Creamfields and tested it on a sanitised hand mirror. It’s your own responsibility to test your stuff, take half and wait the appropriate time before taking anymore. Obviously, we need better harm-reduction education to avoid these kinds of tragedies, but I think this is partly on parents to make sure their child knows the risks before going to festivals or on heavy nights out.

  12. Drugs are proven to be dangerous and cause death, mental illnesses and all that shit, if they are banned they are banned, don’t buy drugs off a stranger, I learned my lesson when I nearly felt like died on mdma , I right now can have just as much fun with alcohol just a little bit , for me it s shocking how many druggies defend drugs because they are so addicted and they lied to themselves that it’s government fault. You don’t need those drugs lmao, it’s your responsibility. Low life druggie always blame the industry. The fault is on you.

  13. The government should be held accountable for this girls (and every other)death.
They have the power to change things for the better yet they just speak the population as if we’re 6 years old.
Big pharma must be paying them real good!! Cunts.

  14. Utterly awful and pointless that a life is lost.

Governments know that hard and/or recreational drugs are not going away, but still push to punish and stigmatise.

Safe checks on what you buy are easily available and affordable and should be given out freely from pharmacies in the UK.

We should remember that we are all different though, someone who can throw four good pills down their neck on a Saturday night and have great time may react different to a Peanut.

Be safe all of you, and enjoy your life.

  15. Horribly ironic how the person who organised this was called Betts.. the same name of the first girl than died from ecstasy a long time ago now.. Leah Betts x
