Feels like a bit of a minefield having a discussion about this, but is it right that ex-service personell and their families have to lean on charities for support, rather than the state/military?
Young men died so that others could do this to their memorial- how very sad is that
Not sure it makes it much better, but one would hope it was just a senseless act by some drunk idiots who now have sobered up and feel deep shame and remorse rather than an actual targeted attack on a war memorial on Remembrance Sunday.
Just once I would love to read the headline, “Rioters Feed Homeless in Defiance of Climate Change” or “Protesters Adopt Underfed Strays” instead of destroying something. Then I might get behind their cause.
Arrest whoever did it and send them to Ukraine to fight without weapons.
