Colruyt did a promo where you could get a beer box if you’ve spent 150 euro on Black Friday.
Nevermind the fact that they’ve advertised it as containing special beers, and it being just regular beers they carry all year long instead of something even remotely special, but they claimed the 8 beers to be worth 25 euro.
I know Colruyt doesn’t sell beer per bottle (25/33cl) but only per 4, 6, 8 or case, but I’ve calculated the price of a single bottle of each beer and added them up to get a total of..
12 euro and 21 cents.
Okay. There’s a 10 cents deposit per bottle … so maybe € 13.01

The whole colruyt group are doing the same, false savings etc.
I didn’t even realise they advertised it. I accepted it and pretended that I got this amazing gift from Colruyt to my husband. He was so excited. Sinterklaas came early.
I get your point. It’s falsely advertised. But for us, uninformed souls, it was a great gift.
Don’t forget to add the return value of the empty bottles too. Not that that will make it go to 25€ but still

I generally like Colruyt, but this is just a scam, in my view. I would complain. I’m not aware if they pull this kind of shenanigans regularly, but to me the incident is sleazy enough to warrant suspicion the next time they have a “great deal”.
Really think test aankoop should look into this. Seems like a direct 100 percent lie in advertising, which is completely illegal.

Agreed up to a certain point.
None of these beers are available as a single bottle, you’re always forced to buy a 6pack or a bak, so you can argue this is a normal price for 1 of each different kinds of beer. If you would go to a cafe, you will pay even more for a bottle. Also, everything you buy in bulk, it will be cheaper per unit. What you did, is using the bulk prices to add to each other.
But yeah, it is a bit overpriced to be honest
Maybe ask them instead? Just a thought.

It is shady, probably borderline scammy. But then again if one tries and hit a spending limit to get something for free, they are not budgeting right. Granted, it’s quite easy to spend these amounts if you have a family.
I’m more annoyed by Delhaize A/B score promos being tied behind a paywall now. I don’t spend enough at their shop, so I can suck it. I thought it was a nice initiative and it actually made me choose healthier options, putting C/D foods back on the shelf for healthier ones.

Price aside a “bière spéciale” is the general term for stronger Belgian beers so those are special beers in the most common use we have of the word when it comes to beers.
This “deal” is off course a terrible deal, but it’s not a scam imho. Gift boxes almost always cost more than the sum of the individual parts. For example, the giftbox with 4 karmelieten and a glass costs 17 euro, which is a lot more the individual prices combined.
So yes, the box actually costs that much.
What is it like to be able to buy any Belgian beer you like? I’m in Canada, my favorite is Karmaliet, but our LCBO overlords have decided we are not allowed to have it. This makes me a sad canuck.
Ah so that’s why the collect and go helper was going to those weird boxes and suddenly stopped. I had already refused their other free beer.
Maybe they used the beer prices from Delhaize?
I’ve been trying to find if there is maybe a glass included, but nope.

If you want a steady supply of beers.. use collect&go. seems like every other week I get at least one free bottle or can of beer and now got the beer box even tough I “only” bought for €65
So unlike all other black friday “deals” this is one a free gift , be grateful
