  1. Fun Fact: At the outbreak of war, the Serbian Chief of General Staff was taking a cure in Austria, in the spa town of Bad Gleichenberg in Styria. The military wanted to arrest him to have him as an extremely valuable hostage. However, the Emperor ordered his immediate release and the Minister of War strongly disapproved of the temporary arrest. Thus he was able to leave Austria for Serbia and was an able leader of the Serbian army which caused great difficulties to the Austrian one – the defeat in two very significant battles.
