  1. Probably realised ah sure they live in clontarf so can afford it. Anyway It’s not free now, it’s the taxi. Was there traffic heavier than before? Was it peak time? Loads of reasons.

  2. What was on the meter?
1.It looks like you had an auto tip active for the second fare.
2.Your second fare looks like it was in unsocial hours. This is approximately 20% more expensive.
3.Fares went up on September 1st by about 12%.
    4.Freenow have instigated a €1 platform fee.
5.Was there any waiting time on the second fare?Keeping the driver waiting 10 minutes would cost over €7 extra(we are legally allowed to charge from the second we arrive at your door,or if it’s a booking from the time of your booking)
    6.Any extra passengers?

  3. The same thing happened to me! They tried to pitch it as additional fees due to the time, the amount of baggage, additional passenger, anything they could think of. I emailed them about it and they gave me a small credit but I was still pissed

  4. My route home from town has increased from €12 to €18. Same route and same time of day (usually home from a night out). That’s more than a 12% increase. Also it’s worth noting that drivers add random extra charges and it varies with the driver. Not saying they all do it but I have noticed some who probably chance the arm and hope you don’t notice the extra charge.

  5. I had to grab a taxi from Terminal 1 to Heuston last week to catch a train, I only had minutes to spare. We had to take the M50 due to traffic. Cost me €55 for a 20 minute taxi. The lad was making more than a doctor off me
