The cuts proposed include cuts by 50% to most maintenance tasks. That’s not a cost saving measure that’s a quick balance the books then later down the line shit will cost more to fix.
It’s 2000 jobs going just from maintenance/response staff.
It’s new contracts when you get promoted doing away with unsociable hours premiums and overtime cut to time and a tenth. For example if I was to take a promotion right now on that new contract instantly the pay rise would be wiped out by the loss of unsociable hours premium so I’d be about 1000 pounds a year worse off. Add in the loss in overtime earnings you could be talking thousands a year worse off by taking promotion.
The Nightshifts and weekends wouldn’t effect me as I can theoretically be rostered that anyway but they want to force more nights and weekends on less staff which maintenance wise makes sense but response is gonna be a fuck up.
Plus a lot more.
Currently for a 4% increase in pay this year and 4% next year. Not a good deal.
