Policy-driven famine being formally recognised as a genocide means the only real difference between Bengal & Ireland and Ukraine is “one was overseen by someone we like and one was overseen by someone we don’t”. Interesting to see if this move continues into recognising those as genocides, or if the buck stops somewhere between “USSR comitted crimes against humanity” and “British Empire comitted crimes against humanity”.
It was a genocide. One of the worst kind. Good that everyone is recognizing that.
Russia should have recognized that as well, a long time ago.
