  1. Smh! They won’t repay the money. Worse case scenario they’ll declare bankruptcy and cry all the way off to their luxury yacht. Talk about failing upwards.

She’s a life peer and will collect her stipend for the house of lords even if she never goes there.

I wonder how much of the £9bn written off by the government forms the £50bn black hole the Government says we’re facing. Sigh

  2. Ignoring the politicians, aren’t civil servants supposed to be on the lookout for the country? Why aren’t civil servants speaking up when bullshit like this is going on.

  3. Are people ready to admit,3 years on,this was all about money, control and reliance for a select few millionaires and billionaires?

    Or is it too soon?

  4. They won’t pay, they’ll just go bankrupt on paper and change their name so they fall off the media cycle. Newspapers will “fall” for the “trick” and let them be.

  5. “In December 2021, a wealth manager of Indian heritage accused Mone of sending racist text messages to him after the two were involved in a 2019 yachting incident in Monaco, which resulted in the death of a person. He said that Mone called him “a waste of a man’s white skin” via text.”

    Jesus H Christ…

  6. This is blatant corruption exposed at all levels of all UK government.

Most of us didn’t even know of such a “VIP Lane” in the first instance and would be shocked to hear of that in its own right, with how the few eyes who were watching this for us were also darting around focused on a myriad of other public health and policy issues during the pandemic that is not a surprise.

But what is a surprise is the huge swathes of shamelessly empty government seats in the house of commons during this debate while the chancellor has been pledging millions to find “efficiencies” to take money from honest hard working people while fraudsters, swindlers and frankly woefully inept businesspeople run off with tax payer money completely unaffected by a crisis affecting nearly all working European people.
