20,000 pints: Bernard, 92, visits local pub every day since 1954 | ITV News

  1. I’d say I went at least 6 nights a week from the age of 20 to 45. I’ve only stopped because I moved to a place where I don’t like the local pubs.

  2. Good on him really. Routine can be important, especially as you get older, I suspect it has helped keep him social as he has aged too. It’s better than slowing down and staying inside forever.

  3. That’s approximately 20,000 trips to the pub since 1954, not necessarily 20,000 pints.

Like any other Brit, I seriously doubt that Bernard comes over for ‘just one’, which means that he’s probably spent ludicrous amounts on beer.

Also, I feel sorry for his liver.

  4. There’s an old bloke I see at my local literally any time I’m there. I could go a couple days in a row, he’s there. I could not go for months then have a drink, he’s there. Go for an early one, there. End up there at the end of the night, he’s there.

    It’s actually pretty sad.
