Paying nearly €4 for delivery and now Dominos want me to tip their drivers?

  1. Yeah i dont tup anymore since this became standard.

I could understand the price increase over covid but they can get fucked now.

  2. I think this is an Irish thing. We get angry at the idea that someone asks for a tip. Like we’re so worried what yer man will think of us if we don’t tip that we resent him for bringing up the option to tip.

  3. If im tipping a driver im giving them cash rather than using a prompt from the website because who knows what happens to it and where it actually goes

  4. Dominos has gotten very expensive over covid. I remember they used to do a large pizza + sides + 2 drinks for 20, rounded up to 24~ with deliveries or something. That same deal, or the equivalent deal (Slightly different) Now rounds up to around €30. It’s insane.

Also once you work in a pizza place you’ll never want to pay 20 for a large pizza ever again lol

  5. Somebody please think of the children.

Just don’t tip. Jesus I’d rather pay 2 euro than spend time complaining about it. I’d also pay the same to call you a moany cunt.

  6. I think somebody here once said that the delivery drivers are subcontracted, effectively being independent of dominoes and only earn around €6 an hour, or some similar pittance that is below minimum wage. Since reading that I actually do tip the drivers, but in cash.

  7. Our locap dominos charge three fifty in six years has the driver gotten out of the car maybe three times
I complained a few times and just got twenty euro vouchers. They still ring from the car and pass it out the window. ONCE this year a female drive stood at the gate in an awkward stand off.
I wouldnt mind we used to ALWAYS tipp a fiver …untill the delivery charge came in.

  8. I hate this tipping culture American bullshit.

Pay your staff a decent wage for fuck sake. Your customers are already paying a 600% markup on the flour, tomatoes and pepperoni that your supplying.

  9. You have a choice here. Not tipping the driver doesn’t make you a cheap ****. That just makes you someone who’s made a choice

Posting on Reddit about the option to tip the driver being outrageous makes you a cheap ****

  10. I don’t tip drivers. How they are paid isn’t my business, I already paid for the delivery. What am I tipping for, their great customer service of handing me the bag?

  11. I hate how long and random takeaway deliveries can be, so I never get deliveries anymore. I ring ahead for collection, no delivery charge, no awkwardness around a tip that you don’t deserve because that’s literally your job and you took 45 fucking minutes to deliver it when if I rang ahead and went and collected it, I would have it in 10-20 minutes depending on the time and day of the week. When I want food, I want it now, not at a random time in the next hour.

There is also the added benefit of the food actually being hot when I get it and get home with it & not half cold or stone cold.
